Properties: density 2.316-2.33 g/cm³. melting point 714℃, boiling point 1412℃. Usually contains six molecules of water of crystallization, i.e. MgCI₂-6H₂0. easily deliquesced. It is monoclinic crystal with salty odor and certain corrosiveness. Its density 1.569 g/cm³.Melting point 116-118°C, decompose at the same time.

Usage

1.It is an important inorganic raw material in chemical industry, used in the production of magnesium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium oxide and other magnesium compounds.

2. In metallurgical industry, it is used to produce magnesium metal, liquid chlorine and high purity magnesium sand.

3. In the building materials industry, it is an important raw material for the production of light building materials such as fiberglass tiles, decorative panels, sanitary ware, ceiling, floor tiles, magnesium-oxygen cement and other high-rise building supplies.
