Properties: odorless, slightly bitter taste. Relative density 2.15(25℃). Melting point 782℃. Boiling point above 1600℃. Hygroscopicity is very strong, it is very easy to deliquesce when exposed to air. Easily soluble in water, while giving off a lot of heat, its aqueous solution is slightly acidic. Soluble in alcohol, acetone, acetic acid. Acting with ammonia or ethanol, it generates Cacl₂-8NH₃ and CaCI₂-4C₂H₅OH complexes respectively. Usage

(1) Used as snow and de-icing for roads, highways, parking lots and docks.

(2) Drying agent: such as for the drying of nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide and other gases.

(3) Dehydrating agent: used as dehydrating agent in the production of alcohol, ester, ether and acrylic resin.

(4) Cooling agent: Calcium chloride aqueous solution is an important cooling agent for freezers and ice making.

(5) Antifreeze agent: It can accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the cold resistance of building mortar, and is an excellent antifreeze agent for construction.

(6) Used as demisting agent for harbor and dust collecting agent for road surface, fireproofing agent for fabric.

(7) Used as protective agent and refining agent for aluminum and magnesium metallurgy.

(8) It is the precipitating agent for producing color pigment.

(9) It is used for deinking of waste paper processing.

(10) It is raw material for producing calcium salt.

(11) Calcium chloride solution is used as flocculant in seaweed with sodium industry and soybean products industry.
